About the Charleswood Art Group
The Charleswood Art Group was established in 1950 by five artists and today we have 50 members who work in a variety of mediums and styles. Over the years the group has been an integral part of the Charleswood community and many of our members have become well-known artists both here in Manitoba, across the country and abroad.
Our mission is to provide a stimulating environment for our members; an environment that will nurture inspiration, creativity and opportunities to exhibit their work.
We gather weekly on Mondays, September through May at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Buckingham at Eldridge and during the summer months we enjoy weekly "plein air" outings around Winnipeg and rural areas. We have no regular instructors but we do arrange frequent workshops throughout the year with various Manitoba artists as well as our own talented members.
The Charleswood Art Group holds their annual SPRINGTIDE SHOW and SALE, the last weekend of April. Each year our show holds a raffle of art donated by members to support the Manitoba CancerCare Art Therapy Program.
