Beth Maurer | charleswood-group

Beth Maurer, a retired teacher, began her art journey in Saskatchewan but has lived in Charleswood for many years. Upon retirement, she resumed her interest in art.

Eventually she realized that striving to make paintings true to life did not matter. Instead, she found that loose, semi-abstract forms of expression can bring out one's creativity more effectively than the planning of a realistic image.

Her process is short on control, fear and doubt, but abundant in playfulness, spontaneity and experimentation.

Beth's favourite mediums include acrylics and her favorite tools include silicone colour shapers.
