Yisa Akinbolaji workshop

Winnipeg artist Yisa Akinbolaji presented a fun and creative workshop to CAG on Feb. 20. Yisa came very well prepared with examples of his beautiful acrylic abstract paintings, including many smaller paintings which he allowed members to " unveil" by removing the Remoglue, a removable resist he has developed for masking areas of a painting.

During his demonstrations Yasi stressed the principles of under painting as a means to abstraction , how to apply Remoglue in multiple stages of a painting, and the importance of good composition and design to any style of art. A very helpful critique of our painting efforts took place at the end of the workshop, and emphasized all the concepts of Yisa's presentation. Thank you Yisa , for a very well organized and stimulating day!
