Covid Virtual Sharing Skies/Emotion November 2020
Updated: Mar 6, 2021
OUR NEXT TWO-WEEK CHALLENGE is . . . . . . (insert drumroll) . . . . . . SKIES!!!
That’s right it’s Skies and it's completely your choice of sky. We all have a vision of those spectacular skies we've seen: prairie skies, tropical skies, winter skies, stormy skies, sunrises, sunsets. Just let your imagination go and create a sky in a medium of your choice. Should we say “the Sky’s the limit”?
Need more inspiration? Take a look through your photos or on the internet for pictures of skies. (Do a Google search for "skies" and then click on "Images".)
Still having trouble getting started? Check out these two 10 minute videos on painting skies, one in watercolour and one in acrylic:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDnlFOgd6Fk Paul Clark, a UK artist demonstrates four different versions of skies in watercolour, using three primary colours.
How to Paint Sunsets | Acrylic Painting Tutorial Ashley Krieger, an American artist shows how to paint sunsets in acrylic.
CAG Challenge - EMOTION
Paint, in a medium of your choice, a piece to evoke Emotion.
Looking for ideas? To quote Pablo Picasso “The artist is a receptacle for emotions that come from all over the place: from the sky, from the earth, from a scrap of paper, from a passing shape, from a spider’s web.”
We think you will enjoy this moving video entitled Emotion in Art from Behind the Art; Illuminating Mind.
