Josephine

McKeever

Jo is a lifelong multimedia artist.  She graduated with a BA in Fine Arts from University of Waterloo.


Jo enjoys working with many media from pencil and paper to cast metals. She enjoys painting large non-figurative acrylic paintings as well as precise pen and ink drawings. Jo recently completed 1000 self-portraits which ranged from realistic to cartoons incorporating a cast of recurring characters from family and friends to Pablo Picasso and her oral B toothbrush.


Jo tried to lighten the mood of the COVID pandemic by drawing cartoons to illustrate social distancing for each of the provinces and territories.


In addition to being a member of the Charleswood Art Group, she is a former member of Medea Artists Cooperative, the Manitoba Society of Artists and a founding member of the Harte Trail Studio Tour.


Her work can be found in private collections in Canada, United States and England including several works purchased by the Malaria Vaccine Initiative in Washington DC. Jo has participated in group shows with the Charleswood Art Group, Manitoba Society of Artists and Medea Gallery. Solo shows were held at Medea Gallery the plasma collection centre at Cangene and Frenchway restaurant.
